Regan Avery is here!

On Monday, July 9th (my due date), I was checked into the hospital to be induced.  At 7:30am, I was about 2 cm along.  An hour after that they broke my water.  About an hour later I received my epidural.  About 11, I was 4 cm along, and it felt labor was moving along very slowly.  But at 2:30 I was 8 cm, and 3:20 10 cm and ready for active labor.  I only had to push through about 4 contractions, and Regan was born at 3:42pm.  A healthy beautiful baby girl.  She weighed 7 lb 13oz and is 20 inches long.  She is a great baby and is sleeping almost all day, and when she is awake, she really doesn't cry much at all.  Lexie is really taking an interest in her and is very interested in her.  It is adorable watching the two together and watching Lexie study Regan.

2 year Check-up

Earlier this week Lexie had her 2 year wellchild doctor visit.  She's 36" tall, putting her at 95% and 31.5 lbs, which is 90%.  She's very healthy and everything is going very well for her.  She loves playing outside, swimming and is learning to ride her new tricycle.  She knows all of the basic colors and shapes and can count past 10.  She's learning the alphabet and can say some of the letters in their correct order.  Lexie loves talking and repeating what she hears.  She enjoys dancing, doing somersaults and singing.  We trimmed her hair for the first time as well.  I don't think she notices that it's shorter, we didn't cut much off.  I'm not sure that she understands that she will be a big sister in a matter of days.  She will point to my tummy and say baby, but until the baby is here, I don't think she'll understand.  Lexie is very active and bright and such a joy to our lives.
